Young Male Passenger Killed in Crash on San Tomas Expressway near Budd Avenue
One person was killed in a car crash during a rainy day on southbound San Tomas Expressway near Budd Avenue about 8:00 a.m. Thursday.
CAMPBELL, California (December 09, 2016) – A young man was a passenger driving to school in a black two-door BMW convertible, when the driver of the BMW switched into the far left lane, losing control and crashing the car into the center divider. The wood and metal guardrail plunged through the passenger side door, striking and killing the 16-year-old male passenger.
The boy was identified as a student, on his way to class. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the BMW sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital where he was treated for a cut to the forehead. Another vehicle had been involved in the crash but information on that vehicle was not readily available and the accident is still under investigation.
