ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLORIDA (December 19, 2016) – Curtis Popkey has been identified as the subcontractor killed in an accident at the I-4 Ultimate project on Monday, according to a local news source. (map)
In the second accident to happen at the construction site this year, Curtis Popkey was killed when a worker was attempting to move some heavy material with an excavator and dropped it onto Curtis Popkey.
Curtis was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability. Popkey was working as a subcontractor for Central Florida Underground, which is one of several companies working on the Interstate 4 Ultimate project.
