ANAHEIM: Woman Hit by SUV in Hit and Run on Euclid Street

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA (December 20, 2017) – A woman was struck by a car and injured on Euclid Street in Anaheim on Wednesday evening, according to an article by the Orange County Register. (map)

The accident happened around 10:37 pm at the intersection of Euclid Street and Francis Street. A female pedestrian was at a sidewalk memorial for a woman who had been killed in a motorcycle accident recently. As she and others lit candles in remembrance of their friend, a black Chevrolet Suburban heading south on Euclid Street jumped the curb and struck the woman before crashing into a light pole and a parked car.

The female pedestrian, identified only as being in her 40s, suffered numerous broken bones in the accident and was rushed to a hospital. A man at the scene identified as Jason Rodrig told news reporters that he was with the woman lighting candles, and was barely able to jump out of the way of the car in time.

The driver of the Suburban and a passenger, described as males, jumped from the crashed car and fled the scene. Authorities are on the hunt to find those responsible. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability. HWG Law is still receiving updates and will continue to update this article as more information becomes available.

“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said the attorneys from HWG Law, a California pedestrian accident and personal injury law firm.
