SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA (April 9, 2018) – On Monday night, a Piper PA-24 aircraft bound for Las Vegas came crashing on to the Scottsdale golf course, killing , Anand Anil Patel, 28, Erik Calente, 26, James Louis Pedroza, 28, Helena Lagos, 22 and Iris Carolina Rodriguez Garcia, 23.(map)
The aircraft that departed from Scottsdale Airport was identified as single-engine Piper PA-24 Comanche. The group of twenty-year-old were all bound for Las Vegas; however, shortly after taking off, the plane went down in a fiery crash on the TPC Scottsdale golf course, catalyzing a small fire on the gold course. The gold course was located just several miles north from the airport. Tragically, there were no survivors from crash.
Anand Anil Patel was identified as one among the six victims who were killed in this terrible crash. Originally from Oklahoma, he known for his happy disposition, charisma, and kindness. “Happy” Patel, as many referred him as, packed a lot of energy for his 26 years of life that was unjustly cut short. He was revered for the way he promoted concerts and electronic dance, and was well-respected by all those who knew him.
It is unknown at the time whether anyone on the ground was injured as a result of the crash. Moreover, it is unclear whether the single-engine aircraft was properly equipped to carry six passengers aboard, as it did. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are currently investigating this crash to determine the cause deadly crash that took the lives of six people.
