Two Big Rigs Crash on Highway 160, One Semi Slides Down Embankment
ANTIOCH, CALIFORNIA (April 25, 2017) — A major crash occurred when two semi-trucks crashed on Highway 160, about two miles north of Antioch Bridge. A northbound semi-truck was struck on the side by the southbound semi that had somehow crossed over into the northbound lane.
According to the CHP, at about 10:10 a.m. Police officers arrived at the scene of the crash to find one of the semi-truck’s cab and part of its trailer had slid down an embankment and caught fire at the bottom. The driver of the semi sustained serious burns and may have been ejected from his vehicle, according to CHP Officer Michael Bradley. The injured victim was transported via CHP helicopter to a Sacramento hospital.
