ATLANTA, GEORGIA (October 30, 2017) – A pilot was injured on Monday morning after a small plane crashed at the Atlanta Motorsports Park, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 8:30 am on Monday morning. A Piper P32R-300 had just refueled in Gainesville and took off, heading for the Gary/Chicago International Airport. He experienced mechanical issues shortly after takeoff, and crashed into the Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawson County.
The pilot survived the crash in unknown condition and was rushed to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. His current condition is unknown at this time. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
