“Investigation Ongoing”
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (March 2, 2017) – Three people were killed in an accident on Panama Lane and Comanche Drive on Thursday night, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 11:54 p.m. at the intersection of East Panama Lane and South Comanche Drive. A pickup truck and a Mercedes sedan were involved in a collision for unknown reasons, causing the pickup truck to veer off the road and into a nearby sump, becoming submerged. The passenger car ended up overturned on its roof.
The driver of the pickup truck was pinned inside their vehicle, and two parties inside the sedan were also pinned inside. The two people inside the Mercedes were identified as 46 year old Teresa Chavolla and 37 year old Antonio Pantoja, and both were tragically pronounced dead. The driver of the pickup truck was identified as 32 year old Frankie Vega, who was also killed in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
