BLASDELL, NEW YORK (December 12, 2016) – A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries after she was struck by a train on Monday evening on Lake Avenue, according to several news sources. (map)
The accident happened around 10:30 pm on the tracks near Lake Avenue. A pedestrian identified only as a female was struck by a freight train operated by CSX Transportation.
The woman was tragically killed as a result of her injuries. An investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability in this tragic accident, and video footage from the train is also being investigated.
