“Ongoing Investigation”
BROOKFIELD, WISCONSIN (January 4, 2017) – The pilot of a small plane that was involved in a crash at Capitol Airport on Wednesday afternoon has died, according to local news sources. (map)
The small plane was taking off from Capitol Airport in Brookfield carrying a family of three, a 41 year old man, his 37 year old wife, and their 6 month old baby. The plane was attempting take off when it veered off the run way and crashed into a parked SUV with a trailer that was nearby.
The 41 year old male pilot and his 37 year old wife were both rushed to a local hospital, and the pilot later sadly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His wife remains in critical condition at this time. Their 6 month old child was secured in a car seat and did not appear to sustain any injuries, but was hospitalized as a precaution. The investigation is ongoing.
