CHICAGO, ILLINOIS(January 26, 2017) – At least one person was killed in a tragic train accident on Thursday morning near Northwest Highway and Nagle Avenue, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 7:10 am near the Northwest Highway and Nagle Avenue intersection. An unidentified car was struck by a Union Pacific Northwest train in the area. The train was originally supposed to leave Harvard at 7:35 am, but it was running late due to a pedestrian accident that had happened earlier on the line.

At least one person was pronounced dead as a result of the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
