FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (December 26, 2017) – Christian Swanson was identified as the pedestrian killed in an accident on Tuesday morning in Fountain Valley, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 5:30 am on Warner Avenue, near Euclid Street. Christian Swanson, a 49 year old Costa Mesa resident, was reportedly struck by a pickup truck for an unknown reason.

Christian Swanson was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver of the truck remained at the scene after the accident, and was hospitalized with minor injuries. Initial reports indicate that investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.

This stretch of Warner Avenue is no stranger to accidents. In 2016, an ambulance was involved in an accident with a van at the intersection of Warner and Euclid that injured 6 people.
