COCOA: Semi Truck Driver Injured after Being Hit by Train

COCOA, FLORIDA (November 20, 2017) – A semi truck driver was injured on Monday morning after his truck was hit by a train, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 11:45 am at the intersection of Beau Geste Road and U.S. 1. A red semi truck was struck by a freight train, causing severe damages to the semi truck.

The driver of the semi truck was airlifted from the scene in critical condition. It is unknown at this time why the semi was on the tracks, as initial reports indicate that the crossing was equipped with crossing arms. The crossing arms may have been malfunctioning at the time of the accident.

“Police will gather evidence and conduct interviews with the drivers and witnesses to determine liability” said the attorneys from HWG Law. “Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent party who caused the accident.”
