CRYSTAL LAKE, ILLINOIS (January 26, 2017) – A pedestrian was killed in a tragic collision on Thursday morning, in the first of two fatal accidents on the same line, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 10:45 am. An unidentified pedestrian was struck by a Union Pacific Northwest train near the Crystal Lake train station.
The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, according to the McHenry County Coroner. The accident remains under investigation at this time. Later that same day a train on the line was involved in another fatal accident.
