RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (February 27, 2017) – Danuta Hijazi, a 67 year old woman, has been identified as one of the three victims killed in a small plane crash on Monday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)
The small plane, described as a twin engine Cessna 310, had just taken off from the Riverside Municipal Airport on Monday around 4:40 p.m. The occupants had just come back from attending a cheer leading competition at Disneyland’s California Adventure theme park. Shortly after takeoff, the plane began experiencing difficulties, and crashed into a home off Rhonda Road.
Three people inside the plane were tragically killed in the accident. One has been identified as 67-year-old Danuta Hijazi, also known as Dana. Dana was on board the plane with her husband Nouri, who was piloting the aircraft, their daughter Stacey Pierce, and their friends Sylvia Farelas and Adine Farelas. Nouri Hijazi was also killed in the crash, as was 22-year-old Adine Farelas. Stacey Pierce and Sylvia Farelas both survived the crash and are in critical condition at local hospitals. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
