ESCONDIDO, CALIFORNIA (February 8, 2017) – A female pedestrian was killed in a tragic accident on Wednesday evening on Vermont Avenue and Juniper Street, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 10:30 pm at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Juniper Street. A female pedestrian, identified only as being elderly, was struck by an 18 year old male driving a BMW.

The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of her injuries. The driver that struck her remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
