KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE (December 19, 2017) – Robert Gintz, a FAA certified flight instructor, was reportedly among the three victims injured in a plane crash in Knoxville on Tuesday, according to an article by KnoxNews.com. (map)
The accident happened around 3:18 pm on Tuesday, December 19th. A plane carrying three people had taken off from the Knoxville Downtown Island Airport, and crashed a short time later in front of a home at 1114 Groner Drive. The plane clipped several trees and landed on top of an unoccupied car.
The three men inside were able to escape the plane, but all three sustained injuries. All three were hospitalized, and Robert “Bobby” Gintz was reportedly released from the hospital on Wednesday. Bobby Gintz has been certified as a commercial pilot since 2004, but only received his flight instructor’s license in January of this year.
