SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA (April 10, 2018) – The plane departed from Scottsdale Airport and went crashing down after traveling three-fourths of a mile out.(map)
At 8:45, the aircraft departed from Scottsdale Airport and was destined for Las Vegas. The plane was identified as single-engine Piper PA-24 Comanche and carried six passengers: Erik Valente, 26; James Louise Pedroza, 28; Mariah Sunshine Coogan, 23; Anand Anil Patel, 28; Helena Lagos, 22, and Iris Carolina Rodrigues Garcia, 23. Shortly after taking off, the plane went down into the TPC Scottsdale golf course. A small fire was started on the golf course as a result of the crash. The golf course was located just several miles north from the airport. Tragically, there were no survivors from crash.
James Louise Pedroza was known for his adventurous and candor spirit. He was described as someone who was full of life, always ready to take the next spontaneous trip. James was in the process of obtaining his pilot’s license so that he could eventually travel whenever he wanted. During his 28 years of living, he visited a substantial number of 36 countries. This past weekend, he and his group of friends, which included Pedroza’s girlfriend, Helena Lagos, were headed back to Las Vegas from Scottsdale, Arizona.
Itis unclear whether the single-engine aircraft was properly equipped to carry six passengers aboard, as it did. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are currently investigating this crash to determine the cause deadly crash that took the lives of six people.
