Jim Spruiell Killed in Arkansas Medical Helicopter Crash

DEWITT, ARKANSAS (November 19, 2017) – Jim Spruiell was identified as one of the three people killed in a helicopter crash in Arkansas on Sunday evening, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened on Sunday night, as the Bell 407 GXP was on its way from Pine Bluff to Dewitt with three members of the Pafford EMS crew on board. The helicopter was responding to Helena Regional Medical Center, when it crashed for an unknown reason.

All three on board were killed, including 61 year old flight nurse James Lawson Spruiell. Jim, as he was known to family and friends, was from the North Mississippi Medical Center. Also killed was pilot Michael Bollen, and paramedic John Auld. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
