LAKE KATRINE, NEW YORK (December 5, 2017) – A pedestrian was struck by a train and killed on Tuesday afternoon in New York, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 1:15 pm on the tracks near Route 209 and Grant Avenue. A train hauling 89 empty cars was heading from Oak Island, NJ to Detroit when it struck a pedestrian for an unknown reason behind the Romeo car dealership.
The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead as a result of the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability. HWG Law is still receiving updates on this accident, and will update this article accordingly.
