LAKESIDE: Two Killed in Fiery Plane Crash near El Capitan Reservoir

“Investigation Ongoing”

LAKESIDE, CALIFORNIA (October 21, 2017) – Two people were killed in a plane crash near the El Capitan Reservoir on Saturday, according to a local news source. (map)

The plane, registered to a small company called Sky Combat Ace, was reportedly on its way to Gillespie Field when it crashed for an unknown reason around 4:15 pm. The EA 300/L single engine aerobatic plane was located shortly after the crash, but due to its remote location was initially inaccessible to ground crews. The plane also touched off a small brush fire when it crashed, which was contained by Saturday evening.

Two people were reportedly on board the plane when it crashed, but have not been identified at this time. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from HWG Law. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
