The man, described as being a 30 year old man from Los Angeles, was operating a forklift at the construction area between Terminals A and B around 4:30 am on Monday. The forklift tipped over for an unknown reason, throwing the man out, and the forklift landed on top of him.
The man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the accident. The man’s identity has not yet been released, but initial reports indicate his name was Jose, and he worked as a subcontractor for Commercial Scaffolding of California at the time of the accident. The California Occupational Safety and Health Administration is on site investigating the accident to determine cause and liability at this time.
“There are no words that can express the condolences of all those at HWG Law to the family and friends of Jose during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Erica and the rest of his family as they piece together what happened,” said the attorneys from HWG Law, a law firm dealing in construction accidents and wrongful deaths.
