The accident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. when a Toyota sedan traveling northbound on Nord Avenue failed to stop at a stop sign and collided into a big-rig. The impact caused the vehicle to be pinned underneath the big-rig, according to CHP officials.
The other occupants of the vehicle were identified as 24-year-old Lacey McQuilliams, 26-year-old Stephen Walker, and a 23-year-old woman who has not yet been identified. All of the occupants in the vehicle were killed as a result of the collision.
The driver of the big-rig did not appear to sustain any injuries from the collision.
An investigation is ongoing to determine if drugs ad alcohol were factors in to the collision.
“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort Mr. Hoyt’s family and friends as they cope with such an incredible loss,” said the attorneys from HWG Law Firm. “The thoughts and prayers of our staff are with them, as well as the young people who were injured, as they try to piece together what happened.”
