Noel Oquendo, 46, Killed in Industrial Accident in Lopatcong Township

LOPATCONG TWP, NEW JERSEY (July 25, 2017) – 46-year-old Noel Oquendo was involved in a fatal accident at Berry Plastics in Lopatcong Township near Phillipsburg Tuesday morning, according to police officials. (map)

The accident occurred Tuesday morning at approximately 11:30 a.m.. Oquendo sustained a head injury while looking into a faulty machine. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.

OSHA is investigation the deadly accident to determine the caused of the accident as well as the Morris County Medical Examiners Office.

The company stated they are working with investigative crews and extends its condolences to Oquendo’s family, friends and co-workers.
