RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (February 27, 2017) – One of the victims of Monday afternoon’s plane crash into a home in a Riverside neighborhood has been identified as 83-year-old Nouri Hijazi, according to local news sources. (map)
The accident happened around 4:40 p.m., when a Cessna 310 crashed into a home off of Rhonda Road in Riverside, just minutes after takeoff. Witnesses saw what appeared to be smoke on the plane just before it abruptly banked, then nosedived into the home, bursting into flames immediately.
The pilot, identified as Nouri Hijazi, was tragically killed in the accident. Hijazi was also the registered owner of the small Cessna 310 plane and was described as having a passion for flying. Also on board the plane was Nouri’s wife, 67-year-old Dana Hijazi, and 22-year-old Adine Farelas, who were both killed in the tragic accident. The two survivors have been identified as Nouri and Dana’s daughter Stacey Pierce, and Adine’s mother Silvia Farelas. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
