Paul Schuda Killed in Small Plane Crash in Indiana

OLDENBURG, INDIANA (December 20, 2017) – Paul Schuda, a regional NTSB director, was confirmed to be one of the three victims of a fatal plane crash in Indiana on Saturday, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened on Saturday evening, near the small town of Oldenburg. The plane was traveling from Kansas City, MO en route to Frederick, Maryland, and had just stopped in Columbus Indiana to refuel. The plane crashed shortly after takeoff in a wooded area near Oldenburg, and all three on board tragically perished.

Dr. Paul Schuda a 65 year old resident of Arlington, VA, was among those tragically killed in the accident. Paul Schuda was the director of the NTSB’s training center in Arlington, VA. Also killed was pilot Louis Cantilena, and Louis’s daughter Amy Cantilena. The NTSB is already on site and investigating the accident, and they have recovered several key pieces of plane wreckage.

The investigation into this incident will be ongoing for a while, and HWG Law is still receiving updates at this time. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
