Fuentes was a student at Century High School, located in Santa Ana. At 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, seven people were riding in an Acura M37 sedan when it veered off Legacy Road and slammed into a cement post. The vehicle spun out of control into a parked box truck before rolling over.
Fuentes was tragically pronounced dead on scene. The people in the vehicle were identified as two 17-year-old girls, three 17-year-old-boys, and a 20-year-old female. Initial reports indicate that the Infinity was speeding when the driver lost control and that at least two people in the vehicle were not wearing their seat belts. One of the victims, Jason Anguiano, succumbed to his injured after being transported to the Orange County Global Medical center in Santa Ana. The other passengers of the Acura were hospitalized and listed in critical condition.
Our sources indicate that the Acura vehicle may have been traveling at high-speeds in attempt to surpass another vehicle. In which case, negligence may have played a significant hand in Fuentes’s wrongful death.
