PETALUMA, CALIFORNIA (November 18, 2017) – One person was killed and two more were injured on Saturday when a drunk driver crashed into a concrete structure, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 11: 42 am near Highway 101. A 29 year old man with two passengers in his vehicle was driving a 2002 Chrysler Sebring south on Highway 101 when he veered into an active construction zone. Despite barricades and signs, the man continued driving almost 1.8 miles down the unfinished road until he finally crashed into a concrete structure.
A passenger in the vehicle was rushed to the hospital, where he tragically died. His name is currently being withheld. The driver was identified as 29 year old Teodulo Francisco Tovar Jr, and the other passenger was Teodulo’s mother Veronica April Anderson. Both Teodulo and his mother sustained major injuries and were hospitalized. Initial reports indicate Teodulo was intoxicated at the time of the crash. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
