RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (February 27, 2017) – Stacey Joanne Pierce and Silvia Farelas have been identified as the two survivors of Monday afternoon’s tragic plane crash in Riverside, according to a local news source. (map)
The small twin engine plane crashed into a home shortly after takeoff from the Riverside Municipal Airport, around 4:45 pm on Monday. The five occupants had all been attending a cheer leading competition at Disneyland, and were on their way back home to San Jose. On board the plane were Nouri Hijazi, Danuta Hijazi, Adine Farelas, Sylvia Farelas, and Stacey Pierce. The plane experienced troubles minutes after takeoff, and nosedived into a home on Rhonda Road.
Stacey Joanne Pierce, the daughter of Danuta and Nouri, miraculously survived the accident after being thrown from the plane into the house. She suffered burns to almost 90% of her body, and was hospitalized in critical condition. Sylvia Farelas, the mother of Adine Farelas, also survived the crash and was able to crawl out of the wreckage. She remains in the hospital in serious condition. Danuta Hijazi, Nouri Hijazi, and Adine Farelas were all tragically killed in the accident. The terrible crash remains under investigation at this time.
