SAN LUIS OBISPO: Jubalee Jones, 20, Killed in Solo Vehicle Collision on U.S. 101

“Solo Vehicle Fatality”

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA (August 29, 2017) – 20-year-old Jubalee Jones and two others were involved in a solo vehicle crash on Highway 101 south of TV Tower Road, Tuesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)

The accident occurred at approximate 11:00 pm. when the driver of a Toyota Scion, later identified as 19-year-old Robert Dave Jones II, traveling at a high rate of speed down an embankment and lost control of the vehicle.

Jones along with passenger 21-year-old Cody Wiebers were struck by at least two vehicles after ejected from the Scion. Both were not wearing seat belts. Jones and Wiebers were both pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger in the Scion, identified as 20-year-old Cynthia Rendon, sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Jones sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Jones was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

An investigation is ongoing.
