Several Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies were in pursuit of a suspect that was believed to be armed. Deputies confirmed that they had seen the woman waving a gun around during their pursuit, which took them through a creek and a wooded area. The suspect entered a mobile home park and attempted to break into several of them in order to escape authorities, and deputies opened fire on the woman who was still believed to be armed.
The woman was shot several times and was killed at the scene. One of the shots fired by the deputies went through the wall of the mobile home and struck a 7 year old boy in the torso. The boy was rushed to the hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead a short time later. The investigation into the tragedy is still ongoing as authorities attempt to determine
