Stacey Joanne Pierce Died after Being Severely Burned in Riverside Plane Crash

“Small Plane Crash Claims Fourth Victim”

RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (March 7, 2017) – Stacey Joanne Pierce, one of two survivors of a horrific plane crash in Riverside on February 27th, has died of her injuries, according to a report by her family. (map)

Stacey Pierce, a 46 year old mother of four, was with her mother, stepfather, and two friends of the family aboard a twin engine Cessna 310 that took off from the Riverside Airport on Monday, February 27th. Shortly after takeoff, the plane began experiencing problems and crashed into a home on Rhonda Road a few minutes later.

Stacey Joanne Pierce was originally one of two survivors of the terrible crash. Stacy suffered burns to over 90% of her body, and doctors had to amputate both of her legs. She underwent several surgeries before her family made the difficult decision to take her off life support. Stacey died at 9:21 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7th, surrounded by her family.

The plane crash still remains under investigation at this time. The plane was being flown by Stacey’s stepfather, 83 year old Nouri Hijazi, who had been flying faithfully, and had just renewed his pilot’s license in October of 2016. Also on board the plane was 67 year old Danuta Hijazi, Stacey’s mother, and two friends of the family, 22 year old Adine Farelas and 46 year old Silvia Farelas, Adine’s mother.

Nouri, Danuta, and Adine were all killed in the crash, and Silvia is now the only survivor. The group was on their way back home to San Jose, after watching Stacey’s daughter and Silvia’s daughter compete in a cheerleading competition at Downtown Disney. The two girls took a bus home with the rest of their team and were not on board the plane.

A witness at the airport says that the plane seemed to be experiencing issues prior to takeoff and other witnesses in the area say they saw smoke on the plane before it crashed. The accident is being investigated by the NTSB and the FAA.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all the family members and friends of Stacey Pierce as they cope with such tragic loss,” said the attorneys from HWG Law Firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all parties affected in this tragedy as they try to piece together what happened.”
