The accident happened around 9:37 am on Friday at the interchange between Highway 99 and Highway 4. An 84 year old man from Stockton driving a Honda had pulled over to the right shoulder on the southbound Highway 99 transition ramp heading to Highway 4. He then attempted to get back onto southbound 99 by making a left turn across both lanes of traffic. He was broadsided by a 2000 Ford driven by a 38 year old man who was unable to stop in time, and the impact caused the Honda to head southeast on the highway until it hit the concrete divider head on.
The 84 year old man was rushed to San Joaquin General Hospital, and he tragically succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. The condition of the other involved driver is unknown. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability. HWG Law is still looking into this accident, and will continue to update this article as more information becomes available.
“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends affected by this tragic accident,” said the attorneys from HWG Law. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.”
