WATERLOO: Jovida Owens Hit by Train and Injured near Fourth Street

WATERLOO, IOWA (April 22, 2017) – Jovida Owens has been identified as the woman that was injured in a train accident on Saturday, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 9:00 pm on the railroad tracks near East Fourth Street and Dane Street 37 year old Jovida Owens was struck by a train, and was not discovered on the tracks until almost half an hour later by the crew of a second train.

Jovida Owens was rushed to UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, and reportedly lost a portion of her left leg. The accident remains under current investigation to determine cause and liability at this time.
