JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA (September 3, 2017) – A 26 vehicle accident on Sunday evening on Interstate 95 left one person dead and 13 more injured, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 10:45 on the southbound side of Interstate 95. A semi truck failed to stop for slowing traffic, and crashed into stopped vehicles, creating a serious of chain reaction crashes involving at least three semi trucks and over 20 passenger vehicles.
At least one person was killed in the accident, and has only been identified as a resident of Jacksonville. 13 other people reportedly sustained injuries in the accident. The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time to determine cause and liability.
